Game Strategy...Moving Up The Ranks
Chips are the GOLD STANDARD of Blogshares.

Good Morning Gamers:
As I start looking to make a move up the ranking ladder back into the top 25 on Blogshares, I am recalling my own strategy that got me there the first time. To win in this game, you have some basic rules you need to follow to get into the top one hundred, and they are really pretty simple.
1. Buy ideas...LOTS OF THEM! These things have a good habit of increasing in value, and as you get into the game there is an easy way to make their values grow.
2. Build Artefacts, that in turn use up some of your precious ideas, which means you have to build up your cash reserves.
3. To build up your cash reserves, get CHIPPIES...each chip right now is going for around 900 Million, so you can see why you want to be winning/attaining chippies.
These three basics should get you into the Blogshares top 150 players with some time and practice, which in turn brings refinement to your game. Now is where the fun begins, where you start to make targeted climbs as you move into the Top 100, the Top 50, and with a great deal of dedication, the Top 25. I have one simple rule that I follow in moving up the ladder.
Concentrate only on the player immediately in front of you, that is the only one you have to beat at any given time. Go to the composite score list and look at thier stats verse your own, and figure out which of the areas giving you rank scores you can concentrate on to catch, and pass them. This focused approach sets an attainable goal in front of you, gives you an attainable set of tasks you can accomplishment in reaching your next goal.
That's it! Warning...Blogshares is like a chess in that it takes about five minutes to learn how to play the game, and a lifetime to master it.

Why Blog Shares Is More Than A Game
Blogshares...the Stock Market styled game for Bloggers.Waxing poetic here tonight, and also trying to get this blog re-listed and put into its rightful categories on the game board. With that thought in mind, and having just returned from a long absense from the game, thought I would talk about what makes Blog Shares more than just a internet game.
Good, bad and ugly, the people who play Blog Shares are serious about the game and the players who play it. Can't afford a premium membership? Not to worry, there are plenty of players who will trade you some of your hard earned chips in exchange for your one year membership. Sure, it is going to cost 15,000 chips (10,000 with the right folks), but how many games out there have players willing to pay your way into the game? If that was common, I'd be playing Texas Holdem tournaments every night.
When the people there found out about my wife's breast cancer, hardly a day went by that someone did not make an inquiry, send me a little prayer. Same thing when she went in for her hysterectomy this past December.
Almost every player in the top 100 takes time to make some contribution to making the game BETTER, even if sometimes we as players disagree on what is better since the game is set up to favor those at the top...sorry, but it is true! If someone gave me another couple of Zillion, I could make a run at being chip leader, and you will never catch up in the Karma department with those who have been around long term. That said, how many games do you know where it is the players themselves that keep the game FRESH AND VIBRANT? Blogshares does, and even in their own DEA driven way, there is a place for BSEC.
So, if you want to play a game where your a part of FAMILY, give Blogshares a try, and you will probably find yourself there at every chance you get trading stocks and buying ideas to build up your war chest of Artifacts. By the way, did I mention we have a bar?

Resurrecting Blog Shares Gold Links
Greetings Blog Shares Members:As many of you know, I took what could be called a leave of absense from Blogshares...in doing so, I also took a break from this blog as I dealt with personal issues surrounding my wife's health issues. Between her breast cancer, and a December Hysterectomy it was all just too much to cope with, and felt it best to take some time off to deal with real life.
Today someone was kind enough to renew my premium membership at Blogshares, and felt it was time to restart this blog...that, and Billy The Kid asked about it. So, let me get my feet wet again, and look for some new articles here in the near future.
Again, if you are wanting a link to your blog here, donate some chips to Secret Santa as I want to resurrect its social purpose as well.

Checking In...Made Blog Shares Top 25
Do apologize for having been absent, but life and a failing economy have kept me busy on other projects, denying me the time needed to continue my climb up the Blog Shares ladder of success. I am happy to report though that I have made it into the Top 25 Composite list, and am making some BIG PLANS for Secret Santa Corporation. Stay Tuned.
For now going to go drink another glass of Iced Tea and continue my quest to stop smoking which is now in day 4!

Broke Into Top 30 Overnight-Currently 29th in Rankings

A BIG DAY TODAY...woke up to find myself in the Top 30 in the Blog Shares composite rankings. Have had several members ask me my secret...there are two. First is, resources, resources and more resources. Chips are worth $800 Million each, and the more of them you can earn, the better off you are going to be. Secondly, BUY, BUY, and BUY SOME MORE. Like any game, resources are key. You can never have too many ideas, so buy everyone you can afford and then some...eventually, they as a whole are going to go up in value. I looked at the account of one player recently who has a total monetary value of around a quadtrillion bucks. What I found interesting, was his wealth is almost entirely derived from one LARGE CHUNK of ideas in one industry. He'd obviously bought them early, and they have grown in value. If you want detailed advice, feel free to send me a private message on Blog Shares.
